Staying at The Log Cabin

The Log Cabin sits on 12 acres of lush meadow, with sheep, olives and native riverside walkways that you are free to roam at your leisure. There are a number of large swimming holes in the adjacent pristine river, and a grassed picnic area to catch some sun after a swim.

Accommodating up to 10 guests in four upstairs bedrooms, there is a fully equipped kitchen, two bathrooms and a large dining and lounge area. The upstairs bathroom features an original deep clawfoot bath and has a handbasin & toilet. The downstairs bathroom includes a toilet, shower, handbasin and washing machine.

The large kitchen is fully equipped and a great place to enjoy drinks and chats while preparing dinner with friends and family.

The downstairs living area is open plan and warmed by a wood fire, flowing onto an extensive outdoor deck with large alfresco dining table, a beautiful inset spa pool and stunning views of the native bush and river.

Enjoy a stroll along the river, or for the more active explore the DOC walking tracks that extend from the property boundary.

House Rules

Check in time: No earlier than 2pm
Check out time: No later than 10am

General:

We have sheep on the property, so ask that you please keep gates closed at all times.

The swimming holes at property boundary are deep, please keep an eye on your children or anyone who can’t swim.

The Log Cabin has stairs leading to upstairs bedrooms. Removable safety barriers are provided for top and bottom of stairs to use if required. The stairs are quite steep, so please take care on them.

Noise Policy:

As we are situated in a peaceful and tranquil valley, we ask guests to please keep noise to a minimum, with no noise after 10pm.

Internet:

We are ‘off the beaten track’ with limited mobile coverage.  There is WIFI available at The Log Cabin. The modem is set up in the balcony bedroom, where it is best situated for good reception.

Linen:

Being that we are remote and on tank water, we ask guests to please bring own linen (top sheets, bottom sheets, pillow cases and own towels). Please do not sleep under the duvet without a top sheet. Duvets, pillows, blankets, hand towels and t-towels are all provided.

Hot Tub:

Please rinse off grass and dirt from feet before hopping into Spa. For safety, when not in use, please keep spa properly covered, which will also help keep water to temperature. Note that when bubbles are turned on the heater auto turns off, so make sure you turn the bubbles off when you have finished so spa stays nice and hot for you. We suggest a quick shower is taken after spa to rinse off as water is treated with chlorine.

Rubbish & recycling:

There is no rubbish collection in our remote area. You can leave 1 x rubbish bag (which we provide) for us to take away. Please leave this bag in the kitchen, not in outside recycle area. There is a recycle station outside adjacent to car park, please sort all your recycling into correct bins before your departure.

Cleaning:

Please leave everything as you found it. Move furniture to original place if anything moved. Empty dishwasher. Our cleaners will do all the cleaning of bathrooms, toilets, surfaces and floors.

PLEASE NOTE NO PETS ALLOWED AND NO FIRES OR FIREWORKS PERMITTED ANYWHERE ON THE PROPERTY
